ree

Ingredients

1 12 or 14oz extra firm tofu block cut in half and scored

The sauce:

4 tbsp vegan Worcestershire sauce

3 tbsp tamari

2-3 tbsp balsamic vinegar

1/2tsp cut fresh or dried basil

1/2tsp fresh or dried thyme

Sea salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate the tofu in the sauce for at least one hour (2 is better) at room temperature.

  2. After marinating, preheat pan to sear both sides of the tofu.

  3. Add some olive oil (or another vegan/neutral oil) to the pan.

  4. Place each tofu into the pan. Add some of the liquid from the marinade on top of the tofu each flip. Once finished, top the scored part of the tofu with any remaining liquid.

Serve the tofu with whatever sides you have prepared. This meal is high in protein because it is half a tofu block.
